Kathryn Labrenz

Kathryn "Kathy" Grace Labrenz, age 84 of Oxford (formerly of Albany, NY) passed away peacefully Thursday, August 31, 2017 with her husband by her side at her home after a courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis. She was born on October 22, 1932 to Eugene and Mary (Gove) Armstrong in Albany, New York. Kathy married Donald Labrenz on March 26, 1961 in Hinsdale, Illinois. They retired to Oxford in 1996. In her working years, Kathy was employed at Madison General (now Meriter) Hospital in Madison as well as American Breeders Service in Deforest. She also served as a special education aide at the Morrisville School for several years. Kathy enjoyed reading, crocheting, making quilt tops for charity, cross stitching, plastic canvas and sewing. She also served on the Commission on Aging Board of Marquette County and worked the town of Oxford elections. Kathy will be greatly missed. Kathy leaves behind her husband, Donald and son, Owen of Oxford. She is also survived by sisters-in-law: Marolyn Armstrong, Sharon Labrenz and Phyllis Veldman as well as many nieces and nephews. Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Harold Armstrong, sister, Esther (Fred) Baker and brothers-in-law: Kenneth "Tink" Labrenz and Hal Veldman. Honoring Kathryn's wishes, private family services will be held and she will be laid to rest in the town of Oxford Cemetery.
