Richard Stajszczak

Richard "Rich" Anthony Stajszczak, age 78 of Montello (Lake Puckaway) passed away unexpectedly Sunday, February 19, 2017 at his home. Rich was born in Chicago on April 14, 1938. He married Margaret Cox on September 15, 1973 at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Chicago and together they worked and lived in the Chicago area until retiring to Lake Puckaway in 1988. Rich worked for Joslyn Manufacturing and Supply Company in Chicago for 32 years; while in Montello he also worked for several different companies in the area. He was a firm believer in the Christian Faith and instilled those beliefs in his family. Rich enjoyed fishing and cheering on his beloved Chicago Cubs. He was a devout husband, father and grandfather. Rich loved being "Papa" to his grandchildren and spending time with his family.

Rich is survived by his wife of 43 years, Margaret "Marge" and two daughters: Angela (Douglas) Roosevelt of Bloomington, IL and Maria (Eric) Feider of Ripon as well as five grandchildren: Marissa, Rachel, William, Benjamin and Isabella. He is further survived by three sisters: Beverly, Darlene and Jeri and cousin, Charlie (Angie) Rodstrom, other extended family and friends. Rich is preceded in death by his parents, aunt, Pauline (Iner) Rodstrom and cousins: Doris and Bobby. A Mass of Christian Burial for Richard Stajszczak will be held on Friday, February 24, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Montello. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home in Montello. A Rosary Prayer Service will begin at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will take place again on Friday morning at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of mass. Father Paulraj Sellam will preside and burial will follow at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, town of Montello. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family.
