Robert Kruger

Robert "Bob" Kruger, age 74 of Montello passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at his home. Bob was born on September 28, 1942 in Wabasha, MN to Donald and Catherine (VonWald) Kruger. Bob married Shirley Irish on November 12, 1960 in Plainview, MN. Bob enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and ATV trail riding with his family and friends. Survivors included: his wife, Shirley of 56 years and two daughters: Stacy Metcalf and Wanda (Jeff) Hembree both of Montello as well as four granddaughters: Jenna (Bill) Holland, Lynn Metcalf, Katie (Kyle Block) Galbraith and Chelci (Gus) Peterson. He is also survived by three step-great-grandchildren: Olivia, Spenser and Aidyn and one more great-granddaughter, Jayda and another one on the way. Bob is further survived by two brothers: Jon (Jule) and Mike (Jean) and ten sisters: Carol Kruger Bredeson, Sharyn (Jim) Flies, Mary (Dick Schwanke) Larson, Donna Kruger, Casey (Bill) Welke, Patti (Ron) Mihm, Kris (Rudy) Meyers, Ann (Wes Niemitalo) Kruger, Heidi (John Gardner) Breutzman and Martha (Ramon) Melendez as well as other extended family members and friends. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, son, Jay and great-granddaughter, Peyton Marie Holland. A Celebration of Life for Robert "Bob" Kruger will be held at Sondalles White Lake Country Club on Sunday, September 24, 2017 from 12:00 until 4:00 PM. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date in Plainview, MN. In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to the family.
