Milton Fay Hintz, 87 of Oxford went to be with his Savior Sunday, March 10, 2019. He was born to Alfred and Matilda (Luger) Hintz on February 5, 1932 in the family farmhouse. Milton continued to work the family farm in Oxford all his life.
Milton married Elvera Warren on February 23, 1957 and to this union Mark and Melody were born. Milton’s proudest accomplishment was helping to build St John’s Lutheran Church in Oxford where he was a member for 70 years. He loved sports and watching his children and grandchildren playing them.
Milton is survived by his wife of 62 years, Elvera, son, Mark (Diane) Hintz, daughter, Melody Rodger and grandchildren: Matthew (Kristin) Hintz, Sarah (Paul) Parker, Heather (Chris) Smith, Chelsey (Cory) Boeker and Trisha Rodger. He is also survived by great-grandchildren: Conor Hintz, Blake and Vince Parker, Flynn and Eva Boeker and well as his uncle, Faye Luger and many other special relatives and church family members.
Milton was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Matilda Hintz, sister, Betty Pekowsky, brother-in-law, Donald Pekowsky, nephew, Michael Pekowsky, daughter-in-law, Vickie Hintz, in-laws: Wilbur “Buzzy” and Addie Warren as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
A celebration of Milton’s life will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 11:00 AM at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Oxford. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the hour of service at the church. Pastor Larry Sheppard will preside and burial will follow at Oxford Village Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to the family for several of Milton’s favorite charities.
