Allen Nicolaus

Allen “Al” George Nicolaus, age 89 of Brooks passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at his home.  Al was born in Milwaukee on February 6, 1934 to Harvey and Mabel (Schuller) Nicolaus.  Al was an entrepreneur.  At a young age worked on the farm and then became an over-the-road truck driver.  Al started several different businesses and moved to rural Brooks in the 1960’s continuing to farm as well as driving truck.  He didn’t fully retire from truck driving until earlier this year.   Al will be remembered for “getting the job done.”

Al is survived by several close friends: Deb Ledbetter, Jamie (Jenna) Smith, Chase and Karlee Smith, Frank Miceli, Bill (Betty) Wimmer, Bryan (Michelle) Anderson, Danielle and Michelle Vandenbusch, as well as his canine companion, O’Malley.

Al is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Jerry and sister, Carol Ann.

A funeral service for Allen Nicolaus will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at 11:00 AM at The Brooks Church.  Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the hour of service.  Pastor Dominick Thoman will preside and Al will be laid to rest next to his parents at the Washington County Memorial Park Cemetery in West Bend on Thursday.
