Andrea Jorgensen was born January 31 st , 1942 in Racine and passed away August 16, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family at the age of 78. She leaves behind by her children: Sarah (Rick) Nelson, Jerry Jorgensen, Andrew (Kim) Jorgensen and Amber (Matthew) Kath. She was also survived by four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and many other family and friends. Andrea is preceded in death by her husband, Homer Jorgensen, son, Steven Jorgensen, two brothers: Rheinhardt and Bob Zemke, and her sister, Judy Zemke.
Andrea loved animals especially her cats: Izzy, Willow, Quincy, Lucien, and Sammy and dogs: Lolly-pop, Teagan, Monique, and Fifi; she was never without her fur babies. She has had hamsters, parakeets, and fish also. Andrea loved to crochet and has made many blankets for her church to give to those in need. Her blankets were beautiful works of art that anyone who received one cherished and understood the love that went into making them. When Andrea was younger, she loved to ride horses, camp, hike, fish, swim and many other outdoor activities. Andrea loved to garden and every year she canned what she grew; she didn’t know how to cook when she got married so she taught herself. Andrea became a wonderful cook and her family enjoyed eating everything she made.
Andrea proudly raised five children and taught her youngest daughter at home and she also taught three of her granddaughters until they went to high school. She would babysit her grandchildren and they all loved going to grandma and grandpa’s house for any reason. Now she has eight great-grandchildren that loved to go to her house too. Andrea had so much love to give that none of her family and friends ever felt that they weren’t loved. We will miss her laughter, smiles, and wonderful hugs. She will always be in our hearts and minds; Andrea has left her mark of love on every person that has come into contact with her.
A memorial service for Andrea Jorgensen will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at 3:00 PM at the Oxford Seventh Day Adventist Church. There will be no visitation.
