Anthony "Tony" J. Hoffman, age 69 of Montello (formerly of Horicon) passed away Thursday evening, May 4, 2017 at his home with his loving wife and family by his side. Tony was born in Hustisford on July 13, 1947 to Mathias and Evelyn (Weginger) Hoffman. He graduated from Mayville High School in 1965 and married Bonita "Bonnie" Fitzsimmons on March 12, 1966 at St. Malachy Catholic Church in Horicon.
Tony worked for the John Deere Company in Horicon, retiring after 30 years of faithful employment. He and Bonnie moved to Montello in 1999 with their family. Tony enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He especially loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and going for gator rides with his dog, Taka. Tony was an avid sports and Nascar fan and enjoyed his trips to the casino with his father, wife and siblings. His wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were his passion. He will be greatly missed. Tony leaves behind his wife of 51 years, Bonnie and son, Stanford (Renee) of Montello and two granddaughters: Cassidy (Jake) Hoffa and Katelynn Hoffman. He is also survived by his father, Mathias and his two great-grandchildren: Mason and Hayden. Tony is further survived by his siblings: Mathias Jr., Jerry (Taddy), John (Beverly), Patsy Grissman, Beverly Weinheimer and sister-in-law, Norita along with many other sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Tony is preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn, brother, Robert, brothers-in-law: Jack Grissman and Chet Weinheimer, sister-in-law, Carol and nephew, Cody Laufenberg. He is also preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law: Hubert and Bernice Fitzsimmons. A Mass of Christian Burial for Anthony "Tony" Hoffman will be held on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 950 Washington Street, Horicon, WI 53032. Visitation will be held on Wednesday at the church from 1:30 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. Following the mass, Tony will be cremated and private family inurnment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to the family for a memorial that will be established in Tony's name.
