Arthur Ford

Arthur “Art” Eldon Ford, age 81 of Oxford passed away unexpectedly Monday, August 25, 2025. Art was born in Cowden, Illinois on September 28, 1943 to Wesley and Ada (Ryder) Ford. He married Linda Harris on March 20, 1963 in Shelbyville, IL and they enjoyed 60 years together until her passing in 2023.

Art lived life with a full heart and playful spirit. A talented musician, he found joy in playing guitar and singing with his band, sharing music that brought people together. When not on stage, Art could often be found at the bingo hall or enjoying his daily ritual of coffee with friends each morning. Known for always lending a hand around town, he stayed busy with handy work and took pride in helping others. With a sharp wit and love of mischief, Art was a jokester at heart. He was known for playing pranks, stirring up laughter, or causing a bit of ruckus just for fun. Art spent many years as an over-the-road truck driver which bode well with his love of traveling. He especially cherished his time spent in Arizona, where he created lasting memories with family and friends.

Art is survived by his son, Troy of Bloomington, MN, granddaughters: Jessica Ford of Batavia, IL and Danielle (Nathan) Lee of Aurora, IL, daughter-in-law, Barbara Ford of Batavia, IL, sister, Nancy and sister-in-law, Joan.

Art is preceded in death by his parents, wife, son, Kenny and seven siblings.

Honoring Art’s wishes, no services will be held.
