Carmen Jones

Carmen Alberta Jones, age 86 of Oxford passed away peacefully at Aspirus Divine Savior Hospital in Portage on Friday, September 11, 2026. Carmen was born in Wisconsin Rapids on October 2, 1939 to Harley and June (Washburn) Grant. She was raised in Oxford and graduated from Oxford High School in 1958. Carmen married Leroy Larson and had together they had one son and later divorced. She was united in marriage to Ernest Jones and they lived in several parts of the United States while he served in the military. She returned to Oxford to raise her family; Ernest preceded her her in death in 1991.

Carmen held several jobs throughout her life, but her main focus was her family. She was always there for her children and grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoyed going to yard sales and collecting cast iron and frog memorabilia. Carmen always shared her Faith in the Lord with her family and friends and will be remembered for her sense of humor.

Carmen is survived be her four children: Jeff (Pam) Larson, Brad (Mary) Jones, Chris (Tamara) Jones and Amber (John) Vogelsang all of Oxford as well as ten grandchildren: Brandon, Robin, Caleb (Skylar), Amanda, Ethan (Alma), Jameson, Alivia, Elijah, Dawson (Brook) and Dylan (Maisyn). She is also survived by her great-grandchildren: Landon, Lilly, Gracie, Chloe, Persus, Nolan and Elayna along with her siblings: Dale (Kathy) Grant and Becky Rude.

Honoring Carmen’s wishes, private services will be held and she will be laid to rest at the Oxford Village Cemetery.
