Cheryl Worden

Cheryl Larai Worden, age 76 of Packwaukee passed away peacefully Sunday evening February 23, 2014 at the Columbia Health Care Center in Wyocena. Cheryl was born in Freeport, IL on July 10, 1937 to Harold and Larai (Swanson) Fritzel. She graduated from Freeport High School in 1955 and later moved to Rockford where she met and later married Gary Worden on December 20, 1969. Together they worked in the Rockford area until moving to Packwaukee in 1982. Cheryl enjoyed crafting, gardening and playing card games. She never missed a chance to visit a casino. Cheryl worked at the Sportsman CafAC. in Packwaukee until it burned. She loved her family very much; especially her grandchildren and her cats. Cheryl leaves behind her husband, Gary and four children: Steve (Kathy) Halbrader, Jim (Cathy) Halbrader both of Loves Park, IL, Kevin (Norma) Worden of San Diego, CA and Kelly (Karen) Worden of Elgin, IL. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Sarah, Bethany, Scott, Kaitlyn, Nicholas, Tyler and Madelyn as well as one brother, James (Janet) Fritzel of Durand, IL. Cheryl is further survived by many nephews, nieces and dear friends. Cheryl is preceded in death by her parents, father and mother-in-law, William and Margaret Worden, nephew, Jonathan Fritzel and niece, Debbie Worden. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home of Montello. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Pastor Brenda Pulver will officiate and private family inurnment will be held at a later date in Freeport, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Budda Box Fight Against Cancer, P.O.
