Christine Sebastiani

Christine “Chris” Aileen Sebastiani, age 77 of Oxford passed away unexpectedly Monday, April 17, 2023 at her home.  Chris was born in Portage on January 3, 1946 to William and Viola (Jarrett) Waite.  She graduated from Westfield High School in 1964 and married Arthur “Art” Sebastiani on September 12^th of that same year.  Together Chris and Art moved many times following Art's job with the railroad, all while raising two daughters; it wasn’t until recently that they permanently moved back to rural Oxford.  She loved nature walks, camping, gardening, bird watching and spending time with her family.  One of her prized memories was when Elvis Presley handed her his scarf at a concert. She will be remembered for her campfires/bonfires and her love for Tootsie.

Chris leaves behind her husband of 58 years, Arthur and daughter, Karol Sebastiani of Oshkosh and five grandchildren:  Carissa, Olivia, Grayson, Jaxon and Evie.  She is also survived by her son-in-law, Tim Thacker, brother, David (Linda) Waite, sister, Marlea “Lee” (Darrell) McCollam, sister-in-law, Velna Waite, dear friends:  Annette DeHoff and Jean Kotlowski and many extended family members.

Chris is preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Karin Thacker, grandson, Porter Hardy and siblings:  Meradell Chvojicek, Dale Waite, Dennis Waite and Ronald Waite.

A memorial service for Christine Sebastiani will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the Crawford Funeral Home in Oxford.  Visitation will be from 9:30 AM until the hour of service.  Pastor Mike Vargo will preside and private family inurnment will take place at a later date in the Oxford Village Cemetery.
