Colleen Bertram

Colleen Ann Bertram, age 58 of Montello passed away unexpectedly Monday, September 11, 2017 at her home. Colleen was born in Rockford, IL on August 14, 1959 to Gary and Mae (Pettenger) Allen. She was raised in Grafton, Wisconsin and graduated from Grafton High School and from MBTI in Milwaukee. Colleen later relocated to Sheboygan and then to Montello in 2012. Colleen brought fun and whimsy into others' lives despite her own health challenges. She passed her love of fishing along to her sons, though they never became fans of her beloved Chicago Bears. Colleen's artistic talents were put to use in the many years she served as master painter for productions for the Sheboygan Theatre Company and showed off-stage in the items she painted or crafted for sale or for others in her life - everything from a large memorial painting commemorating 9-11 to pet rocks. Her caring nature was evident to friends and neighbors and for all animals great and small. Colleen's greatest love, though, was for her sons Gary and Jake and for her Lord who sustained her through the challenging times in her life. Colleen is survived by her son, Gary (Kori) of Saukville and her adopted parents: Ron and Judi Pugh of Montello. She is also survived by her mother Mae Allen, brother Dale (Sandy) Allen, sister Sheila Brossmann, brother Brian Allen and brother Tom (Deb) Allen as well as her former husband, Michael A. Bertram and many extended family members. Colleen is preceded in death by her father Gary Allen, her son Jake and several aunts and uncles. A memorial service for Colleen will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Marquette Community Church, 610 Doty Street, Montello. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Pastor Mike Vargo will officiate and private family inurnment will take place at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Port Washington at a later date.
