Daris McLaughlin

Daris Annette McLaughlin, age 91 of Montello (Lake Puckaway) passed away peacefully Friday, October 2, 2026 at Patriot Place in Berlin. Daris was born in Dousman, WI on May 24, 1935 to George and Nora (Wrensch) Ehrlich. She graduated from Waukesha High School and married Peter Fantl on June 17, 1982. Peter preceded Daris in death March 7, 1987. Daris was united in marriage to Leo McLaughlin at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Wauwatosa on June 9, 1990 and together they moved to Lake Puckaway in the early 1990’s. She worked as real estate broker for many years and was a devout member of the Catholic Faith and member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Princeton. Leo preceded Daris in death on March 20, 2022. Daris was an animal lover and was proud of the fact that she obtained her own pilot’s license.

Daris is survived by one brother, Ronald Ehrlich and special nieces: Jodie (Tim) Lemont and Kathleen Borchert and special nephew, Mike (Laurie) Ehrlich along with special friend, Mariann Meich. She is also survived by step-daughters: Charlene (Don) Doepke and Eda (Chris) Portz and other extended family members.

Daris is preceded in death by her parents, husbands: Peter and Leo as well as her four older brothers: Leland, Bill, Don and Ted.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Daris McLaughlin will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2026 at 10:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Princeton. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until the hour of mass. Monsignor James Gunn will preside and Daris will be laid to rest at Highland Memorial Park in New Berlin at 1:30 PM on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to: Budda-Box, P.0. Box 591, Montello, WI 53949.
