Darwin Schwersinske

August 17, 1932 — August 26, 2013

Darwin Donald Schwersinske, age 81 of Montello passed away suddenly at his home on Monday morning, August 26, 2013. Darwin was born in the town of Crystal Lake near Busdin in Marquette County, Wisconsin to Theodore and Ida (Vilbaum) Schwersinske on August 17, 1932. He attended school in Westfield, Janesville as well as Pittsville. On August 25, 1951 he married Mildred "Millie" Krueger at St. John's Lutheran Church in Pittsville and together they raised their four sons in Edgerton (Fulton). Darwin worked for General Motors in Janesville for 30 years until he retired in 1983 and together he and Millie moved to Black River Falls and then in 1991 to rural Montello. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing and working with his horses. Darwin was a man of many talents and was always willing to help others. He loved spending time with his family and will be sadly missed. Darwin leaves behind his wife of 62 years, Millie and three sons: Donald (Darlene) of Iron Ridge, Steven (Cheryl) of Packwaukee, and Dean (special friend, Margaret) of Montello. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren: Michael, Matthew, Mark, Heidi, Tanya (Steve), Apryl, Tammy (Mike), Robert (Catheryn), Bryan, Tina, Heather and Leighann as well as numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Darwin is further survived by former daughters-in-law: Sandy, Marsha, Jan and Lori and beloved horse, Gracie B. and canine companions, Buddy and Tulip. He is also survived by special friend and neighbor, Nina Suldorfs and many nieces, nephews and many other dear friends. Darwin is preceded in death by his parents, son, Theodore, grandson, William and his eight siblings. A graveside prayer service lead by Pastor Julie Wilson will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Dakota Cemetery, town of Dakota, Waushara County.
