It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Dawn Marie Gosse, age 62 of Packwaukee. She passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2026 surrounded by her family.
Dawn was born in Ripon on March 16, 1964 to George and Marlene (Friend) Holland. Dawn grew up in Princeton and graduated from Princeton High School in 1982. While there, she participated in band and track, was a member of the National Honor Society, and was the salutatorian of her graduating class. She furthered education at Moraine Park Technical College. Dawn was united in marriage to Robert Gosse Jr. in 1988. They had one son, Travis in 1996. Robert passed away as a result of Cystic Fibrosis in 2004.
Dawn was employed by Thrivent Financial for over 30 years as a Lead Operation Analyst before retiring in 2019. In retirement, she was employed part-time at Gerber Collision and Glass in Portage, where her employer referred to her as the best Customer Service Representative. Dawn married her longtime partner, Richard “Rick” Arbeiter Jr. on August 19, 2023. She was a devoted mother and in her spare time enjoyed four-wheeling, boating, fishing, and playing cards.
Dawn leaves behind her husband, Rick, son, Travis (fiancée, Candace Morff) of Madison and daughter, Hannah (fiancé, Eli Weber) Arbeiter of California. She is also survived by step-son, Bryan (Kati-Rose) Haney and was known as “G-mamma” to their children: Piper and Bella, as well as two sisters: Lisa (Robert) Schumacher of Ripon and Renee (Donald) Daniels of Berlin and one brother, Michael (Kasey) Holland of Hortonville. She is further survived by Rick’s parents: Richard Sr. and Maryann Arbeiter of Florida along with other extended family members.
Dawn is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert Gosse Jr, and his parents: Robert Sr. and Joyce Gosse.
Dawn will forever be remembered as a very strong, positive, happy woman, eager to lend a hand when needed.
We have solace knowing she is finally resting in peace after a challenging battle with cancer. She did not want any of us to be sad about her passing. She would like us to remember the fun times we have all shared with her.
We would like to thank the following people:
To Marilyn, you endlessly brightened her days with your visits and incredibly thoughtful gifts that made sure her voice was heard, your thoughtfulness made all the difference for Dawn during this time.
To Aunt Lisa and Aunt Michelle, you helped whenever needed no matter the hour, coming at a moment’s notice, freely giving your time, and giving us the ability to manage affairs outside the home worry-free.
A memorial visitation will be held for Dawn Gosse on Friday, November 6th, from 12:00 until 3:00 PM at the Crawford Funeral Home in Oxford. Per Dawn’s wishes, there will be no formal service. A celebration of her life will follow the visitation at her home. In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
