Edna Mesmer

Edna Ann Mesmer, age 81 of Montello (formerly of Westmont, IL) passed away unexpectedly at her home on Wednesday, July 22, 2026. Affectionately known as “Tillie” by many, she graduated in 1962 from Hinsdale High School and worked for many years as a computer operator. She and her husband, Elroy moved to Lake Puckaway in 2002 and he preceded her in death that same year. Edna enjoyed quilting, crocheting and crafting. She also had a green thumb always caring for her gardens as well as her canine companions.

Edna is survived by her two sisters: Shirley (Jim) Was of Oswego, IL and Terry (Steve) Speakman of Crest Hill, IL along with five nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband and longtime partner, Rich Shemhorne.

Honoring Edna’s wishes, no services will be held.
