Eleanor Sharon Erdman, age 78 of Princeton passed away peacefully in her loving husband’s arms on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at the SSM Hospice House of Hope in Fond du Lac. Eleanor was born in Mountain, Wisconsin on May 27, 1946 to Ruben and Eleanor (Bean) Shier. She graduated from Montello High School in 1964 and married Carl Erdman at Trinity Lutheran Church in Packwaukee on June 17, 1972; together they were blessed with three daughters.
Eleanor’s greatest joy was found in being the matriarch of her beloved family. Gathering at her home and playing rummy, putting puzzles together, and playing silly games like cards against humanity with her children and grandchildren were some of her favorite pastimes. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and took great pride in all of her family’s accomplishments. Her sense of humor and her infectious laugh will be greatly missed. She had a passion for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and always prayed without ceasing. That love was passed on to her children and grandchildren and will continue on for generations to come. Great is her reward in heaven for a job well done.
Eleanor is survived by her husband of 52 years, Carl and two daughters: Carol Erdman of Packwaukee and Angie Brilliott of Baraboo as well as seven grandchildren: Nik, Ashley, Nicholas, Gregory, Thadius, Carl and Abraham. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren: Lukas, Faith, Samuel, Eleanora and Olivia as well as two brothers: Walter (Kathleen) Shier and Eugene Shier along with special friends, Dave and Mona Matijevich and other extended family members and friends.
Eleanor is preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Theresa Shier, son-in-law, Brad Brilliott, siblings: Tom (Marsha) Shier, Claude Shier, Patsy (Fred) Kratz, Ruth Evans and Elmore Shier as well as sisters-in-law: Bonnie Shier and Florence Shier.
