Elizabeth Mugnai

Elizabeth “Betty” A. Mugnai , age 85 of Montello passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 26, 2022 surrounded by her family at the Montello Care Center.  Betty was born in Chicago on December 6, 1936 to Alexander and Catherine (Peterson) Mugnai. Betty lived and worked for many years in the Algonquin, IL area until 2017 when she came to Montello to be with her oldest daughter.  She enjoyed playing bingo and looked forward to spending time with her friends at the Senior Dome in Montello.  Betty’s greatest joy was her family and the memories she made with them will not be soon forgotten.

Betty is survived by her children:  Venise (Tim) Mugler of Montello, Vincent J. (Rosie) Messina of West Dundee, IL, Lawrence (Carla) Messina of Marengo, IL and Gina Holmes of Marengo, IL as well as her grandchildren:  Jennifer, Kelli, Paula, Joshua, Anthony, Nicholas, Taylor, Alex and Zack.  She is also survived by her sister, Patricia (Rowie) Percoco, her brother, Alex (Cathy) Mugnai and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, former husband and father of her children, Vincent Messina and sister, Catherine “Dolly” Maher.

Honoring Betty’s wishes, private family services will be held.
