Ethel Marie Anderson Tracy Cairns, age 92 of Oxford/Westfield passed away Saturday morning, July 4, 2015 at Harris Villa Assisted Living in Westfield. Ethel was born at home in Monroe County, Wisconsin on June 3, 1923 to Edgar "Victor" and Hattie (Jensen) Anderson. She lived her entire life in Central Wisconsin: Monroe, Adams, and Marquette Counties. Ethel married Roy Cairns on April 20, 1963 in Oxford at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Upon retirement, they sold their small Angus farm south of Oxford and moved to Westfield. They snowbirded to Redding, CA and Mission, TX where they danced to their hearts' content. They also loved to travel; visiting all fifty states.
Ethel leaves behind three children: son, Kenneth (Donna) Tracy, granddaughter, Kelly (Jeff) Holcomb and their children: Tony, Rylee, Quintin and Addison, daughter, Joeldene Barus, grandsons: Eric Kocovsky and Jason (Nichole) Kocovsky and their daughter, Tess as well as daughter, Jill Hockerman, granddaughters: Amy (Mike) Norelius and Carrie Hockerman and her partner, Jody Gillette and his daughter, Olivia. She is also survived by her brothers: Dale (Lillian) Anderson, Lyle (Judy) Anderson and sister, Alice Anderson as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Ethel is preceded in death by her parents, Victor, Hattie and loving step-mother, Sarah Anderson, husband, Roy, son-in-law, Dennis Barus and sister, Shirley Zellmer and two infant siblings. Ethel and Roy lived their earthly lives, both figuratively and literally, dancing. They are now dancing together again in Heaven. A funeral service for Ethel will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oxford. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Pastor Larry Sheppard will officiate and burial will follow the service at the Oxford Village Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church or Harris Villa Assisted Living.
