Gloria Ann “Annie” Struzynski , aged 81, peacefully passed away on April 27, 2020, at her home in Montello, with her husband by her side. Annie was born in Fond du Lac to Wilmar and Agnes Ritchie Abitz on March 10, 1939. In 1957, she graduated from high school, married Richard “Dick” Struzynski, and together they moved to Oklahoma where Dick was stationed in the military. Eventually in 2002, they made their final home in Montello.
The most important thing in Annie’s life was her family, especially her great-grandson, Hunter Jon Struzynski, who came to live with her and Dick for a time after his father passed away. Important right after family was playing Euchre, baking cookies, playing slot machines (and winning!) at the casino, sewing, making the best noodle salad (requested at every family gathering) and attending get-togethers with the local Red Hatters. For many years after retirement, she and Dick traveled to many warm locations in the winter, making friends wherever they went. She was always there to help a friend or family member in need, and will be remembered and loved by all who knew her.
In addition to her husband of 62 years, Annie is survived by son, Rick (Jennifer) Struzynski of Portage, Ron Struzynski of Milton, grandsons: Kurt and Carl, and great-grandson, Hunter. She is survived by siblings: Bill, Bob, Art, Den, Randy, Mark, Pat, Jean and their spouses.
Annie was preceded in death by her grandson, Nick Struzynski, and brothers: Click and Don.
The family would like to extend gratitude to the Agrace Hospice and nursing staff for their loving care of Annie. What a blessing.
A celebration of Annie’s life will be held at a later date. Memorials can be made to Agrace Hospice of Baraboo, 1670 South Blvd Unit 2 Baraboo, WI 53913.
