Harvey Anderson

Harvey A. Anderson, age 86, of Montello, passed away peacefully early Monday, October 12, 2009 at the Don and Marilyn Anderson Hospice Care Center in Madison, WI. Harvey was born in Glenwood City, WI on September 10th, 1923 to Arthur and Alpha Anderson. He graduated from Glenwood City High and joined the Army Aircorp where he proudly served as a medic in World War II. After returning from the war he married the love of his life, Barbara Kirk on March 6, 1948 in Milwaukee. Harvey's big smile and good nature touched everyone he met. The most common word used to describe him was 'special'. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, woodworking or just relaxing, as long it was with family and friends. Harvey was an active member of the Montello Lion's Club, The People's Church as well as Legion Post 351 of Montello. He just made the world a better place. He will be missed by all of us. Harvey is survived by: his wife of sixty-one years, children: Kirk (Sherry) of Northville, MI, Lois Ruby of Stratford, CT and John (Diane) of Cambridge, WI. He also survived by six grandchildren: Shannon (John) Fischer and Jonathan (Aleisha), Scott and Chris, and Andrea (Luke) Rahbari and Bryan (fianci�½e Shannon) Ruby; five great- grandchildren: Jackson, Savannah, Olivia, Amani, and Nadia. He is further survived by three brothers Don (Shirley), Cliff (Jeanie), and Richard (JoAnne) and one sister Gloria (Arnold) Thompson. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Harold and Eugene, and sisters: Myrt, Clarus, and May. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2009 at The People's Church, 3045 15th Rd. Montello. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of service. Pastor Mark Hensley will officiate and full military honors will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to The People's Church or the Hospice Care Center, 5395 E. Cheryl Pkwy, Madison, WI 53711. Following the ceremony Harvey will be cremated. May God bless all of his caregivers at the Hospice Care Center as well as St. Mary's Hospital.
