Irene Hoffarth

Irene Barbara Hoffarth, age 75 of Neshkoro passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning, August 18, 2015 at her home. Irene was born in Milwaukee to Myron and Margaret (Pekrun) Billings on August 29, 1939. Following high school, she entered the USO and lived in the Milwaukee area and married Leon Hoffarth on May 18, 1963; together they worked and raised their family in Milwaukee. Following Leon's death in 1985, Irene relocated to Marquette County in the early 1990's. She recently married her companion of thirty years, Everett Metzger on February 4, 2015 Irene enjoyed selling at flea markets and rummage sales and was known for her crafting talents. She was an animal lover and enjoyed spending time with her family. Irene is survived by her husband, Everett Metzger and four children: Cheryl (John) Regner of Hales Corners, Michael of Florida, Daniel (Tracy) of Waterford and Carol (Fred Machajewski) Tomashaski of Neshkoro. She is also survived by two step-children, Mark (Carrie) Metzger and Debbie Anderly as well as ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Irene is further survived by her sister, Bernice as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Irene is preceded in death by her parents, step-father, Floryan Gulczynski, husband, Leon, brother, Myron (Ramona) Billings and step-granddaughter, Christine. A memorial service for Irene will be held on her birthday, Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home in Montello. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Pastor Brenda Pulver will lead the service and inurnment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family.
