Jean Chowaniec

Jean L. Chowaniec, age 85 of Oxford passed away peacefully on July 4, 2026 at the Montello Care Center. Jean was born on June 7, 1941 to Raymond and Vivian (Olson) Aitchison in Milwaukee. She married James Chowaniec October 26, 1963. Jean worked at Lowell Elementary School in Waukesha as a school aide and in 2005 she and James moved to Oxford. Jean was a dog lover, enjoyed shopping and playing bingo.

She is survived by her husband, James and children: James Jr. (Tammi) of Dousman, Todd of Waukesha and Kelly Chowaniec of Waukesha and Chris (Jewels) of Hixson, TN. She is also survived by grandchildren: Craig, Cody, Casey, Cameron, Krystal and Kaitlyn as well as great-granddaughter, Emberlyn Mae (daughter of Kaitlyn). Jean is further survived by her sister, Lynn (Dale) Heine of Mukwonago and brother, Neal (Peg) Aitchison of Pewaukee.

Jean is preceded in death by her parents, siblings: Scott and Dawn and daughter-in-law, Jill.

Per Jean’s wishes, no services will be held.
