John Goetz

John Anton Goetz , age 66, Town of Buffalo, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at Aspirus Divine Savior Hospital in Portage.  John was born in Waukesha to Anton and Elizabeth (Freese) Goetz on October 26, 1955.  His family traveled between Waukesha and Montello before permanently moving to the Town of Buffalo, John graduated from Montello High School in 1973.  He was employed for many years as an operating engineer.  John married Janet Bro on July 7, 2007 and they have enjoyed many happy times together.

John’s passion was always centered around his family tree farm and hunting, he took great pride in tending to his land.  John was also an avid fisherman and many knew him for his landscaping skills.  He will be remembered for his friendly demeanor and the love he had for his family.

John leaves behind his wife, Janet and two sisters: Carol (Kenneth) Kiser of Albany, NY and Donna Borgealt of Waukesha as well as Janet’s siblings:  Laura (Ellis) Bro, Brian (Ramona) Bro and Randal (Denise) Bro.  He is also survived by many nieces and nephews: Paul, T.J., Frank, Monique, Amanda, Madelyn, Lisa, Jim, David, Robyn and Andrew and their families as well as many friends.

John is preceded in death by his parents, in-laws: Harold “Ed” and Thora “Connie” Bro, sister, Betty June Goetz and brother-in-law, Alan John Borgealt.

Services will be private.  In John’s memory, donations are preferred to the Dodge County Humane Society, N6839 State Road 26, Juneau, WI 53039.
