Joyce Gibbens

Joyce Ann Gibbens, age 75 of Easton and formerly of Oxford passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon, February 10, 2015 at Mile Bluff Medical Center in Mauston. Joyce was born at home in Oxford to Hiram and Ida (Smith) Goodhue on September 21, 1939. She graduated from Oxford High School in 1957 and later earned an Associate's Degree from the Milwaukee School of Business. Joyce married Lyle Gibbens at the Presbyterian Church in Oxford on September 24, 1960; he preceded her in death on July 28, 1997. Joyce worked for Dr. Mackey for many years as secretary while caring for her family. She lived in Easton as well as Oxford and enjoyed reading, camping and will be remembered as a Milwaukee Brewers fanatic. Joyce was a very religious person and was member of several different area protestant churches throughout her life. She loved her family very much and enjoyed the time they spent together. Joyce is survived by four children: RaeAnn (Robert) Miller of Mauston, Kyle (Kimberly) of Tomah, Janet (special friend, Mark Weeden) Gibbens of Easton and Kathy (Matt) Anderson of Reedsburg as well as six grandchildren: Shane, Shayla, Alexandra, Marguerite, Erin and Jenna. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Shelby (Karl) Schultz and many nieces and nephews. Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant daughter and eight siblings: Faye Herrick, Wayne Goodhue, Nina Holliday, Russel Goodhue, Myron Goodhue, Geraldine "Cookie" Manthey, John Goodhue and James Goodhue. A funeral service will be held for Joyce on Monday, February 16, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home, 306 S. Franklin Avenue, Oxford. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Rev. Jeff Fairchild will officiate and burial will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Monday at the Easton Cemetery, town of Easton, Adams County. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established.
