Joyce Gniotczynski

Joyce M. Gniotczynski (nee Mountcastle), age 86 of Montello, formerly of Milwaukee passed away peacefully Friday morning, June 29, 2012 at UW Hospital in Madison. Joyce was born in Milwaukee on January 8, 1926 to George and Martha Mountcastle. She attended Bayview High School in Milwaukee and worked for various companies; later retiring from Easy Painter, Inc. after more than 30 years of employment. After retiring, she moved to the Montello area in early 1980's and worked as a bartender at the Town Pump for twelve years. Joyce enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping and fishing. She also enjoyed playing cards and also reading books. Joyce was an outgoing person and would strike a conversation with anyone. She was a member of the Crystal Rebekah Lodge of Milwaukee and also the American Legion Auxilary of Montello. Joyce loved spending time with her family and will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know her. Joyce is survived by her two daughters: Janet Welch and Charlene Meyer, both of Montello and four grandchildren: Michael, Theresa (Rick), Craig (Bonnie) and Chrystie (Scott). She is also survived by her loving great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Joyce is further survived by her sister, Marlene and her brother, Tommy as well as nieces, nephews and other dear friends. Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, son, Johnny Welch, husband, Raymond Gniotczynski and numerous siblings. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 5, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the People's Church with Pastor Mark Hensley officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Inurnment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family. Crawford Funeral Home of Montello is assisting the family with arrangements. www.CrawfordFH.com
