June Weiss

June Elaine Weiss, age 99 of Montello (formerly of West Bend) passed away Monday, October 14, 2024 at home. June was born in Wauwatosa on June 27, 1925 to Arthur and Veronica (Klumb) Benike. She attended West Bend High School and married Milton Weiss on June 29, 1946 in the Town of Herman, Dodge County. Together they were blessed with five children; Milton preceded June in death on October 28, 2001.

June enjoyed gardening, baking, sewing, quilting and card playing. She was a sharp sheepshead player and in her later years thoroughly enjoyed her twice weekly games with her Embassy group! She was a very caring and thoughtful person, known for her independent thinking, and her family was very important to her. She also loved her dark beers and whiskey old fashioneds.

June is survived by her five children: Walter (Nancy) of Oconto Falls, Nancy Bloom of West Bend, Doug (Karen) of Montello, Don (Adrienne) of Two Rivers and Ron (Melissa) of Las Cruces, NM as well as seven grandchildren: Laura, Lisa (Derek), Jason, Zak (Courtney), Nicklaus, Luke and Nate (Beth). She is also further survived by great-grandchildren: Myles, Oliver, Lyla, Cora, Logan and Adelaide as well as other extended family members.

June is preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings: Beatrice (Otto) Laufer, Arthur (Ethel) Benike and Hariet (Earl) Schaefer and granddaughter, Cassandra Bloom as well as her husband’s siblings.

June will be laid to rest next to her husband with private family services at Washington County Memorial Park in West Bend.
