Katherine Geisler

Katherine “Kathie” Mary Geisler, age 69 of Oxford passed away Friday, October 21, 2022 at Ascension Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital in Milwaukee.  Kathie was born in Cedarburg to Wayne and Theresa (Matuszak) Grace on September 22, 1953.  Kathie grew up in San Diego, California until eventually moving to Janesville, Wisconsin to start a family and adopting her son, Matthew.  Her passion for helping children started with running a daycare out of her home until she began working for the Janesville School District. 

Kathie was a generous person that would always go out of her way to help those in need.  She was moved to become a foster parent one Sunday when she was at church and the pastor mentioned two little girls that needed help.  Kathie would go on to foster 4 other children over the years as if they were her own.  She enjoyed RVing, UTV riding, live music and coming up with patented Kathie catch phrases like “Hey Girlfriend” “Yo Baby” “Thingamawhooper” and “Suck it Up Buttercup”.  Most of all she loved being with her grandchildren and when you met her you better believe she was going to show you pictures of all of them.  Kathie will be remembered with a Diet Mountain Dew in her hand always ready to be the generous, selfless, and refreshingly positive person who was going to put a smile on your face.  

Kathie leaves behind her son, Matthew (Daniela) of Texas and grandson, Miles as well as her fiancé, Brad Hufford.  She is also survived by stepdaughter, Jenna (fiancé, Basilio Salazar) Hufford and her daughter, Aspen and stepson, Devin (Katie Richter) Weller and his son, Zion.  Kathie is further survived by her sister, Linda Grace and other extended family members.

A Celebration of Kathie’s Life will be held on Friday, October 28, 2022 at KD’s (107 W. Ormsby) in Oxford, Wisconsin from Noon until 3:00 PM.
