Kathleen Aldrich

Kathleen Inez Aldrich, age 89, of Montello passed away peacefully on Monday, June 21, 2010 at the Montello Care Center. She was born on April 1, 1921 in Miles City, Montana to Walter and Helen (Arneberg) Collins. Kathleen attended St. John's Catholic Grade School and graduated from Montello High School in 1939. She married Byron Aldrich on June 29, 1940 in Montello; during their early years of marriage, they enjoyed farming together near Dalton, WI until moving into Montello in 1958. Kathleen became active in Montello Women's Club and St. Ann's Society, sharing many special moments with her friends. She liked entertaining at family gatherings with lively piano performances. Kathleen is survived by brother-in-laws, Robert E. Puckett of Mariposa, CA, Bill (Mona) Aldrich of Windsor, WI, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceding Kathleen in death are her parents, husband, brother, William Collins, who was killed in World War II in 1945, and sisters, Helen Marie Puckett and Clarice Murphy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church on Friday, June 25, 2010. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service at the church. Father Michael Richel will officiate and burial will follow at St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Montello.
