Kathleen Koehler

Kathleen "Kay" Koehler, age 76 of Oxford passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Tuesday evening, January 19, 2016 at UW Hospital in Madison. Kay was born on January 8, 1940 to Lester and Dorothy (Neale) Grant in Oxford. She graduated from Oxford High School in 1958 and later married Edward "Bobb" Koehler at "The Little Brown Church" in Iowa on June 5, 1970. Bobb preceded her in death on February 27, 2006. Kay held several different jobs in the area during her working years, most of all she spent time caring for and raising her family. She was known as a social butterfly, she loved to talk to her family and friends at the local establishments. Kay will be remembered for her enthusiasm when it came to racing snowmobiles and lawn mowers and going for horse and mule rides. Kay also enjoyed mowing her lawn, crossword puzzles, gardening, camping as well as fishing. She was the deer registration lady for over 40 years and was a member of the Oxford VFW Auxiliary. Without question, Kay lived her life on her own terms, the way she wanted and that's how she would want to be remembered.

Kay is survived by her three daughters: Deb (Marty) Freese, Dawn (Bart) O'Brien, Deanna (Clint) Holst all of Oxford and four grandchildren: Brittany (Chris), Megan, Quade and Cole as well as one great-granddaughter, Ava. She is also survived by her brother, Butch (Karen) Grant and sister, Karen Lentz both of Oxford and her canine companion, Taco. Kay is further survived by nieces, nephews and many, many dear friends. Kay is preceded in death by her parents, step-father, Willard Grant, husband, Edward "Bobb" and brother-n-law, Karl Lentz. A Funeral Service for Kay will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home in Oxford. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Pastor Larry Sheppard will officiate and burial will follow the service at the Oxford Village Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to the family for a memorial that is being established in Kay's name.
