Kay Theisen

August 3, 1937 — April 13, 2012

Kay F. Theisen (nee Hammond), age 74 of Montello, passed away after of a short illness on Friday, April 13, 2012 surrounded by her loving family at home. Kay was born August 3, 1937 in White Creek, WI and graduated from Adams-Friendship High School. Kay worked as a legal secretary for several law firms in the Montello and Wautoma areas. Kay loved to read, paint and play golf. She was well known for her wittiness and charm. Kay is survived by her loving husband of almost 53 years, Mark and her two children: Greg of Montello and Melissa 'Missy' Theisen of Middleton. She is also survived by her siblings: Vernon (Lilah) Hammond, Willie Hammond, Myrna (Ronald) Klaus, Doug (Jean) Hammond, Linda (Larry) Stemper as well as sister-in-law Mary Schmidt. Kay is further survived by many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Kay is preceded in death by her parents, Kermit Hammond and Alma (Reuterskiold) Hammond and siblings: Kenny Hammond, Georgianne Hammond. A Celebration of Kay's Life will be held on Friday, April 20, 2012 from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service led by Father Dave Carrano beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home, Montello. Crawford Funeral Home of Montello is assisting the family with arrangements. The family would like to offer thanks to the many caregivers, visitors and those who brought food and especially Father Dave Carrano for his comforting visits that made Kay's end of life journey peaceful.
