Kenneth Kersky

Kenneth “Ken” Karl Kersky, age 91 of Montello (formerly of Muskego) passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at North Ridge Assisted Living in Stevens Point, WI.  Ken was born on January 17, 1933 in Milwaukee to Ned and Marie (Czerwinski) Kersky.  He graduated from Pulaski High School and enlisted in the United States Air Force, proudly serving his country during the Korean War.  Ken married Maxine “Max” Beth in Green Bay on August 23, 1958 and together they were blessed with five sons.  They worked and raised their family in Muskego; they spent much time in Montello over the years and made it their permanent home in 1991.

Ken’s career in the Air Force spanned 41 years, retiring in 1991.   In 2003, he was inducted into the Wisconsin Air National Guard Hall of Fame.  He was a member of:  Lake Lodge 189 in Milwaukee, Tripoli Shriner’s of Milwaukee and American Legion Post #351 of Montello serving several terms as commander and adjutant.  Ken was also an active member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Montello, serving on several committees and was a proud member of the Holy Name Society.   He was never one to sit still, he enjoyed yardwork, gardening, woodworking, golfing and was also a huge sports fan.  

Ken is survived by his wife of 65 years, Max and four sons: Ned (Denise), Michael (Kim), Mark and Steven (Linda) as well as one grandson, Colten.  He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and many dear friends.

Ken is preceded in death by his parents, son, Keith “Turtle” and three sisters: Yvonne (Henry) Winski, Clarice (Edward) Bieganowski and Marcia (Jerry) Hill.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Kenneth Kersky will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at 11:30 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Montello.  Visitation will be held from 9:00 until 11:15 AM at the church.  Father Savio Yerasani and Father Richard Lesniak will concelebrate the mass and burial with full military honors by American Legion Post #351 of Montello will follow at the parish cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to: Budda-Box, P.O. Box 591, Montello, WI 53949.
