Leah Meadows

Leah V. Meadows, age 75 of Montello passed away Friday, July 25, 2014 at the Ripon Medical Center. Leah was born in Elgin, IL to Arnold and Marose (Learned) Barrier on October 29, 1938. She was raised in Elgin and married Richard F. Pierce Sr. in 1954 and together raised their family in Elgin. She married Howard Meadows on May 3, 1974 and together they moved to Montello in 1999; Howard preceded Leah in death on December 30, 2009. Leah loved to crochet, play video games and dance. Without a doubt, the one thing that brought the most joy to Leah's life was her family and spending time with them.

Leah is survived by six children: Richard (Lorrie) Pierce Jr. of Montello, Jodie (Leo) Vazquez of Pingree Grove, IL, Lisa Meadows-Lyss and Melissa Meadows both of Montello, Howard T. (Debby) Meadows of Coralville, IA and Winifred (Don) Romine of Pingree Grove, IL. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many dear friends. Leah is preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant daughter, Connie Pierce, son, Arnold "Bill" Pierce and grandson, Clarence "Larry" Pierce. She is also preceded in death by her siblings: Melvin, Shirley, Betty and Sue. A funeral service for Leah will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at 12:00 noon at The People's Church, 3045 15th Road, Montello. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. Pastor Mark Hensley will officiate and burial will follow the service at the Montello City Cemetery.
