LeLon Klemp

LeLon "Skip" Klemp, age 73 of Montello/Lake Puckaway passed away unexpectedly Saturday, November 23, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. Skip was born on October 5, 1940 to Carl and Ruth (Dudzinski) Klemp in Ripon. He graduated from Ripon High School in 1959 and served his country as a member of the United States Marines from 1960 thru 1963. On May 23, 1964 Skip married Beverly Swansby at Our Saviors United Church of Christ in Ripon. Following retirement from Speed Queen after 39 years, he and Beverly moved to Lake Puckaway. Skip was very athletic in his younger years and took up golf later in life which he truly enjoyed. He coached youth baseball for many years and also helped start a youth basketball program in the Ripon area. Skip ran a state wide softball tournament for ten years and also competed in full marathons. He enjoyed fishing and also during retirement he worked at White Lake Golf Course. Skip was instrumental in establishing the Marquette County Veterans Memorial Golf Outing. He was a very family oriented man and his sense of humor and loving spirit will be truly missed. Skip leaves behind his wife, Beverly and two children: Jeffery (Amy) of Franklin, Lori (Sincere) Wittchow of Montello as well as five grandchildren: Abby, Anthony, Cody (special friend, Cloe), Dustin (Daphnie) and Jordan. He is also survived by a great-granddaughter, Dixie May as well as three sisters: Sandra (Jerry Lee) Algeo of San Diego, CA, Judy (Ken) Maguire of Ripon and Barb Swihart of Little Rock, AR. Skip is further survived by his niece, Erin and two nephews: Bob and Dan and sister-in-law, Ingrid.

Skip is preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Nathaniel and brothers-in-law: Ron and Rex. Following Skip's wishes, he will be cremated and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
