Leon Fiebranz

Leon Ray Fiebranz, age 72 of Muscoda and formerly of Oxford passed away Thursday evening, January 1, 2015 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison. Leon was born in Alexandria, Minnesota on May 18, 1942 to Harold and Carolyn (Rediehs) Fiebranz. He married Carol Keller on April 6, 1964 in Black Hills of South Dakota and from that union came two children. Carol preceded Leon in death on March 2, 2005.
Leon lived in Oxford for 32 years until recently relocating to Muscoda. He was an active member of the Wisconsin Dells Lions Club and most recently the Muscoda Lion Club and was well known as the Wisconsin Dells Bowling Association chairperson for many years. Leon enjoyed geocaching, woodworking, scootering and reading. In his younger days, he also enjoyed hunting and fishing but most of all he loved his family and spending time with grandchildren. He will be greatly missed. Leon leaves behind two children: Tracy (Tim) Hoffman of Oxford and Todd (Ruby) of Muscoda and one brother, Fred (Mary) of Rogers, MN. He is also survived by nine grandchildren: Anthony, Michael, Matthew, Laurana, Tiffany, Alexander, Anna, Dakota and Erik and great-granddaughter, Lillianna as well as god-daughter and niece, Terri, nieces: Jackie, Tina, Tara, Tonya and Shawn and nephews: Rocky and Shane. Leon is further survived by his sister-in-law, Sandra Fiebranz and numerous other family members. Leon is preceded in death by his parents, wife, step-father, Ed Gerdes, Brother, Jerry, sister, Jane as well as aunts, uncles and cousins. A memorial service for Leon will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at 2:00 pm at the Crawford Funeral Home of Oxford, 306 S. Franklin Avenue, Oxford, WI 53952. The family will receive friends and relatives from 12:30 pm until the hour of service. Pastor Pete Zietlow will officiate and inurnment will take place at a later date in the Oxford Village Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Lions Eye Bank of Wisconsin, 2401 American Lane, Madison, WI 53704.
