Lila Metcalf

Lila C. Metcalf, age 95 of Montello passed away peacefully Sunday evening, January 11, 2015 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King. Lila was born on March 17, 1919 to Paul and Grace (Lytle) Salzwedel in Waupan. She was a graduate of Montello High School and furthered her education to become a teacher. Lila married Harold Metcalf on August 23, 1947 in Montello; from that union came one son, Paul. She farmed with Harold for many years as well as holding other part-time jobs while caring for her family. Lila is survived by her son, Paul (Julie) of Princeton, three grandchildren: Katie of Madison, Robert (Lisa) of Pulaski and Page of Boston, MA. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren: Isaac, Anna and Lauren. Lila is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Harold in 2009 and her brothers and sisters. In accordance with Lila's wishes, private family services will be held and she will be inurned at the Montello Eastside Cemetery at a later date.
