Linda Simonson

Linda J. Simonson, age 51 of Montello passed away peacefully Sunday evening, November 4, 2012 at The Residences on Forest Lane in Montello after a courageous battle with brain cancer. She was born on August 14, 1961 to Jimmie and Betty (Puterbaugh) Hatcher in Portage. Linda was a 1979 graduate of Montello High School and later married David Simonson on August 20, 1988. Linda worked for the Portage Community School District for 15 years serving as teacher's aide and as a head cook for the past 10 years; she enjoyed her job very much and was a dedicated employee. Linda enjoyed baking, walking her dog around Muir Park and quilting. She touched many people with her caring spirit and will be greatly missed by her many family members, coworkers and friends. Survivors include her husband, Dave and son, Nick as well as three siblings: Daniel (Shelly) Hatcher of East Troy, Matthew Hatcher of Montello and Thomas Hatcher of Montello. She is also survived by three brothers-in-law: Steve (Debbie) Simonson of Las Vegas, NV and Ricky and Darwin Simonson, both of Montello as well as three nephews: Brent, Matthew and Nathan and two nieces: Sarah and Trina. Linda is preceded in death by her parents and other distant relatives. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 8, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Packwaukee. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until hour of service at church. Rev. Robert Busse will preside and a private family inurnment will be held at a later date in the Comstock Cemetery, Pardeeville. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family.
