Louis Binkus

Louis Binkus Jr., age 83, of Montello passed away on Tuesday September 29, 2009 at the Montello Care Center. Louis was born in Chicago, IL to Louis and Josie (Chekonaucki) Binkus on March 31, 1926. He married Roxanne Appel on October 23, 1982 in Melrose Park, IL; she preceded him in death on January 6th, 2001. Throughout his life Louis worked in the automotive industry as a heat treatment specialist and eventually becoming a consultant in that area. He was an avid fisherman and also enjoyed boating on the local Montello lakes. He was an active member of the American Legion Post 351 of Montello and served as a member of the Buffalo Lake Committee. He will be greatly missed. Survivors include: three children, one brother, three grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Preceding Louis in death are his parents and wife. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 2, 2009 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, with Father Michael Richel officiating. Visitation was held from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Burial followed at St. John's Catholic Cemetery-Montello with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Budda-Box Foundation of Marquette County, P.O. Box 91, Westfield, WI 53964.
