Maria Anderson

Maria M. Anderson, age 65, of Montello, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 28, 2009 at her home. She was born on April 27, 1944 in Chicago, IL to Daniel and Genevieve (Steinburger) Torres and married William Anderson November 22, 1969. Together they worked and raised their family in the Chicago area until retiring to Montello in the 2000. Maria was a caring person and an active member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. She enjoyed reading, ceramics and helping other people. She will be greatly missed. Maria is survived by her husband of 40 years, one son, Anthony (Wendy) of Ripon, grandchildren: Mindy, Robert, Angel, and Deaven, and great-grandchild, Jaelene. She is further survived by one brother, Dennis (Janet) Torres as well as nieces, nephews and many other friends and relatives. Maria is preceded in death by her parents, one son, William and two infant daughters: Tara and Lisa. She is also preceded in death by her sister, Carol Torres and two brothers: Danny and David. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 313 E. Montello St., Montello with Rev. Pete Zietlow officiating. A visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family.
