Martin "Marty" Stanley Wopinski, age 61 of Montello passed away unexpectedly Friday, August 18, 2017. Marty was born in Chicago on March 17, 1956 to Joseph and Doris "Audrey" (Pack) Wopinski. He was a 1975 graduate of Hinsdale South High School in Darien, IL and furthered his education earning a Bachelor's Degree from Drake University in Des Moines, IA. While at Drake, Marty played nose guard on the football team. He married Patricia "Patti" DelGrosso at St. John's Lutheran Church in Darien on June 18, 1976 and they have two children together. Marty owned and operated Martin Stanley and Son Carpentry in Montello for over 25 years; he was known for excellent woodworking skills. He was an avid hunter and fishermen as well as enjoyed boating on Green Lake with his family. Marty served as an Elder at Trinity Lutheran Church in Packwaukee where he was a member since coming to rural Montello in the early 1990's. He enjoyed watching his beloved Packers and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Marty is survived by his wife of 41 years, Patti and two children: Eric (Christine) of Westfield and Amy (Jon) Dolgner of Montello as well as three grandchildren: Natalee, Colin and Vincent. He is also survived by his mother, Doris "Audrey" Wopinski of Montello and siblings: Linda Morrell, Jeanouche Wopinski and Joseph (Janet) Wopinski. Marty is further survived by his mother-in-law, Joyce DelGrosso as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family members. Marty is preceded in death by his father, Joseph, brother, Barry, sister, Annie, niece, Jennifer Mayer and father-in-law, Roger D. DelGrosso. Honoring Marty's wishes, a private service will be held at a later date.
