Mary Hunter

Mary (Foley) Hunter, age 81 of Dalton passed away peacefully Thursday evening, February 9, 2012 at Golden Years Assisted Living in Montello. Mary was born at home in Montello to John and Iva (Blanchard) Foley on March 18, 1930. She graduated from Montello High School in 1949 and later married Wayne Hunter on December 9, 1950. He preceded her in death on December 21, 2007. Mary loved to talk and enjoyed the company of others. She worked along the side of her husband, Wayne on their Buffalo Township farm for many years while raising their two daughters. Mary was also a member of the Greenwood Church and was very proud of her Irish heritage. She also enjoyed playing cards and most of all spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include her two daughters: Helen (Thomas) Pietrykowski of Madison, IN and Pamela (Willie) Conklin of Dalton. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Rachel, Mark (Bethan), Aaron and Nikki as well as four great-grandchildren: Andre, Zaria, Audrey and Jackson. Mary is further survived by her brother-in-law, Gerald (Darlene) Hunter and sisters-in-law: Irmagard Hunter and Mary Smith as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Mary is preceded in death by her parents, husband and siblings: Gladys, Pat, Wallace, Wilbur and Russell. A prayer service will be lead by Pastor Dawn Helton- Anishnaabeqwa at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at the Crawford Funeral Home, Montello. Visitation will be held from 11:30 am until the hour of service. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Buffalo Township, Marquette County.
