Michael Hillsberg

Michael G. Hillsberg, age 52 of Packwaukee passed away peacefully, Thursday morning, August 2, 2012 surrounded by his family at home. Mike was born in Green Bay on February 17, 1960 to Eugene and Arlene (Londo) Hillsberg. He attended school and spent his younger years in the Fox Valley. Mike worked as a mason and later married Brenda Guerndt on August 2, 1989 in Montello and together they raised their eight children. Mike enjoyed the outdoors; especially fishing, camping, canoeing and just spending time on the lake. Even though Mike was legally blind, he still enjoyed attending and participating in demolition derby's, going to concerts, working on cars and driving his friend's motorcycles. He loved his family very much; Mike always put the needs of others before his own. His caring and loving personality will not be soon forgotten. Mike is survived by his wife, Brenda and eight children: Amy (Mike Nelson) Bungert of Princeton, Sara Guerndt of Packwaukee, Steve Wenzel of Portage, Chad Wenzel of Portage, Jesse (Kayla) Hillsberg of New London, Lucas (Lori Andresen) of Westfield, Abraham Hillsberg of Packwaukee and Axl (Justine Debish) Hillsberg of Packwaukee. Mike is also survived by six grandchildren: Shian, Courtney, Christopher, Olivia, Joshua and Dakota as well as four siblings: Cherry Hillsberg, Jean Bishop, Dan Hillsberg and Paul Hillsberg. He is further survived by his best friend, David 'Chops' Bowman. Mike is preceded in death by his parents A Celebration of Mike's Life and Cancer Benefit will be held together on Saturday August 11, 2012 from 3:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. at the Packwaukee City Park.
