Mildred Henke

Mildred "Millie" Ella Henke, age 102 of Montello entered her heavenly home Sunday, January 14, 2018 at the Montello Care Center. Mildred was born in Montello on December 9, 1915 to William and Ella (Crown) Ross. She graduated from Montello High School in 1933 and was united in marriage to Raymond Henke on April 27, 1935 and together they enjoyed 62 years of marriage until Raymond's passing on October 3, 1997. Mildred was employed at Montello Products for 34 years. She was a devoted lifelong member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Montello where she served as a Sunday School Teacher, Ladies Aid member and church money counter.

Mildred was a quilter, doll maker and also collected salt and pepper shakers. She enjoyed spending time with her family; especially her grandchildren. Mildred is survived by her son, Delvin (Jean) of Montello and three granddaughters: Rebecca (Jeffrey) Miller of Weyauwega, Rachel (Jay) Annala of Chaska, MN and Sarah (Jay) Dahlke of Hudson as well as great-grandchildren: Hannah (Curtis) Lehman, Benjamin (Sara) Miller, Nathan (Lauren) Miller, Jacob (MaKayla) Eakin, Andrew Henke, Rebecca (fiancAC. Zach Tietz) Dahlke, Katie Dahlke, Lucas Dahlke and RayAnne Annala. She is also survived by six great-great-grandchildren: Ethan Lehman, Eldo Miller, Isaiah, Titus and Miriam Miller and Aidan Eakin. Mildred is further survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mildred is preceded in death by her parents, husband, three grandchildren, two brothers and one sister. A funeral service for Mildred Henke will be held on Friday, January 19, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Montello. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until the hour of service. Pastor Pete Zietlow will officiate and burial will follow the service at the Montello Eastside Cemetery.
