Mildred “Millie” Rita (Berna) Wildt, age 88 of Montello passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at SSM Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac. She has been rejoined with her husband of 56 years, John “Jack” Wildt. Millie was born on Nov 9, 1935 to Micheal and Anna (Kurutz) Berna and grew up on the family farm. She graduated from Oconto Falls High School. Millie went to work in Milwaukee until she was married on February 27, 1965. Together Millie and Jack started a veal farm in Watertown, and later expanded the business to include farms in Evansville, Plain and Belleville. In 2002, they retired and moved to Montello. Millie enjoyed traveling and gave generously to her church and other charitable organizations.
Millie is survived by her children: Patrick, Brian (Kim) and Shawn as well as her granddaughters: Omega and Rachel Wildt. She is also survived by her sister, Ester Baugnet along with many nieces, nephews and her beloved cat, Cee Cee.
Millie is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Micheal, siblings: Irene (Ray) Thompson, Helen (Jim) Zajac, Grace Berna, Gerard (Marilyn) Berna and infant John Berna and brother-in-law, Ken Baugnet.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Mildred Wildt will be held on Friday, September 6, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Montello. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the hour of service. Father Savio Yerasani will preside and inurnment will follow in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to SSM Hospice Home of Hope, 400 County Road K, Fond du Lac, WI 54935.
