Norma Jachthuber

August 2, 1920 — January 25, 2014

Norma E. Jachthuber, age 93 of Princeton passed away peacefully Saturday morning, January 25, 2014 in Princeton with her family by her side. She was born on the family farm in the town of Mecan, Marquette County on August 2, 1920 to the late Gustav and Mae (Luedtke) Buchholz. She left the family farm during World War ll to work at Pabst Brewing where she met her husband George and later married on April 24, 1946. They returned to the farm to raise their family and care for her father.

Norma was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Princeton as well as the Gleaners. She was a seasonal worker at Del Monte Canning for over 40 years. Norma was an avid Princeton Tiger and Oshkosh Titan football fan. She was a loving wife and mother, always seeking to fulfill the wishes of her family. She stood high in admiration with her friends, especially for her pleasing disposition.

Survivors include her five children: Johanna Jachthuber of Franklin, George Jr. (Jo) Jachthuber of Princeton, Joan (Scott) Bowman of Port Washington, John (Cindy) Jachthuber and Bob Jachthuber, both of Princeton. Norma is also survived by her twelve grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren, one sister, Esther Matz of Las Vegas, NV, one brother, Willard Buchholz of Westfield and sister-in-law, Carole Jachthuber of Brookfield. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant son, Tim, and sister, Hilda. A funeral service will be held for Norma on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 226 S. Clinton Street, Princeton. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the hour service at the church. Pastor Daniel Heiderich will preside and burial will follow at St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Princeton. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established.
