Peggy L. Elmhorst, age 59 of Oxford passed away surrounded by her family at her home on Saturday, July 25, 2026. Peggy was a loving and devoted mother whose greatest joy in life was her family. She cherished each of her six children and loved them with all her heart. She delighted in cultivating childlike wonder and filling moments with love and excitement, creating memories they will always treasure.

Peggy had a deep appreciation for the beauty of the natural world and spent much of her life searching for beauty, grace, and goodness—even when they were difficult to see. She believed there was value in looking beyond hurt and remembering the good in others. In her personal notes, she wrote:

"There is beauty on this earth even in the ugly of the city. There is beauty even in the people in your life that cause you such anguish."

Like all of us, Peggy did not always find that beauty easily, but she never stopped seeking it. Those words reflect the hope she carried and the person she continually strove to be.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, with whom we find comfort in believing she has now been reunited.

She is lovingly survived by her six children: Samuel, Kayla, Emily, Olivia, Isaiah, and Abigail, along with many family members and friends who will forever cherish the memories they shared with her.

Peggy will be remembered for her caring heart, her unwavering love for her family, and the joy she found in creating special moments for those she loved. Her appreciation for the beauty of the world and her desire to find goodness even through life's struggles remain an enduring part of the legacy she leaves behind. Though we grieve her loss, we are grateful for the time we shared with her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
