Peggy L. Elmhorst, age 59, of Oxford, passed away surrounded by her family at her home on Saturday, July 25, 2026.
Peggy was a loving and devoted mother whose greatest purpose in life was her family. She cherished each of her six children and loved them with all her heart. She delighted in cultivating childlike wonder and filling moments with love and excitement, creating memories her children will always treasure. Her beautiful smile and lighthearted sense of humor brought warmth and comfort to those fortunate enough to know her.
Peggy had a deep appreciation for the beauty of the natural world and spent much of her life searching for beauty, grace, and goodness. She believed there was value in the pursuit of looking beyond hurt, extending grace, and finding the beauty that exists even in those who have caused us pain. Those values guided her life and reflected the hope she carried each day.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, with whom we find comfort in believing she has now been reunited.
She is lovingly survived by her six children: Samuel, Kayla, Emily, Olivia, Isaiah, and Abigail; her beloved grandchildren, Henry, James, and Miles. Her love will forever touch her children and grandchildren, including those she never had the chance to meet. She is also survived by many family members and friends who will forever cherish the memories they shared with her.
Peggy will be remembered for her caring heart, her beautiful smile, her lighthearted sense of humor, her unwavering love for her family, and the meaning she found in creating special moments for those she loved. Though we grieve her loss, we are grateful for the time we shared with her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
No services will be held.
