Philip R. Plasky, age 65 of Oxford passed away peacefully with his loving wife, Ginger by his side Thursday evening, August 27, 2015 at his home. Phil was born in Chicago on October 23, 1949 to Robert and Loretta (Markarewicz) Plasky. He attended Wells High School in Chicago and later furthered his education at the American Diesel Institute. Phil worked for many years as a mechanic and has resided in Oxford with his wife, Ginger since 2005. Phil loved to be outside; he enjoyed riding his Harley and going fishing. He also collected Betty Boop memorabilia and will be remembered for his kind spirit and easy-going personality. Phil leaves behind his wife, Ginger and two daughters: Sherrie Plasky of Tennessee and Tammie (Dean) Surfass of Pennsylvania as well as five grandchildren: Amanda (Tim), Timothy, Sydney, Cameron and Jacob. He is also survived by his step-son, Keith (Nora) Wallace of Kentucky and his son, Payton. Phil is further survived by his siblings: Tony and Michael as well as other relatives and friends. Phil is preceded in death by his parents, sisters: Pat and Jackie and brother, Robert. A visitation for Phil will be held on Monday, August 31, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until 12 noon at the Crawford Funeral Home in Oxford. No formal service will be held. Following the traditional visitation, Phil will be cremated. Inurnment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family.
