Ralph Walters

Ralph Ronald Walters, age 86 of Oxford passed away Saturday, June 22, 2024 at Our House Assisted Living in Wisconsin Dells. Ralph was born on June 8, 1938 in Packwaukee to Edward and Florence (Yaach) Walters. He graduated from Oxford High School in 1956 and married Marilyn Huber at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oxford on June 14, 1958; together they were blessed with four children.

Ralph spent a short time in trades before furthering his education and becoming a police officer. He and Marilyn relocated to Milwaukee where Ralph spent 27 years as a proud City of Milwaukee Police Officer; he retired in 1990 and returned to Oxford. In retirement, Ralph enjoyed woodworking, farmwork and was honored to work his own land for his loyal Neighbor, John Crass. Ralph will be remembered as a devoted husband and a hard worker. 

Ralph is survived by his wife of 66 years, Marilyn and four children: Jeff (Janice) of Oxford, Jomay (Richard) LaCrosse of Oxford, Doug (Peggy O’Neil) of Sussex and Dina Schwalbach of Milwaukee. He is also survived by eighteen grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren and two more on the way as well as his brother, Edmund, sister-in-law, Jackie Walters both of Oxford along with many nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

Ralph is preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Wayne, Jerome “Joe” and Dennis (Rhoda), sister, Joy Ann (Edward) Coon, sister-in-law, Judy Walters, brother-in-law, Virgil Huber, niece, Debra Walters, nephew, Bruce Coon, and in-laws: Ronald and Erma Huber.

A Funeral Service for Ralph Walters will be held on Friday, June 28, 2024 at noon at the Crawford Funeral Home in Oxford. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the hour of service. Ralph will be laid to rest privately at Lakeview Cemetery, Town of Jackson, Adams County.
