Raymond Sturn

July 26, 1951 — May 29, 2013

Raymond "Ray" Sturn Jr., age 61 of Montello passed away peacefully Wednesday evening, May 29, 2013 at his home. Ray was born in Milwaukee on July 26, 1951 to Raymond and Mary (Koval) Sturn Sr. He was a resident of the Montello community with Marquette Area Opportunities until he joined his Catholic Charities family in 2002. Ray enjoyed being around others; his infectious smile always brightened the room. He loved to dance, the color orange, ice cream and the 4th of July. Ray was a very devoted member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church of Montello. He was a collector of many things and enjoyed giving to others. Ray loved his Catholic Charities family very much and he will be missed by all who were blessed to know him. Ray is survived by his brother, Gregory, half-sister, Barbara Janowski as well as his Catholic Charities family who loved him so dearly. He is preceded in death by his parents, half-brother-in-law, Stan Janowski and his close friend, Jim Polcyn. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Montello. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Father David Carrano will preside and burial will take place at Pine Lawn Memorial Park in Milwaukee. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Catholic Charities, 230 Central Avenue, Montello, WI 53949.
