Richard Shours

Richard William Shours, age 94 of Oxford passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 26, 2023 at the Montello Care Center.  Richard was born in Chicago to John and Annie (Dwenser) Shours on January 8, 1929.  He was raised in the Chicago area and became a painter before moving to Oxford in 1992.  While in Oxford, he was employed in Wisconsin Dells as a tilt-a-whirl operator.  Richard was a wonderful baker and gifted sewer.  Those he was close to…..he took great care of, he will be greatly missed.

Richard is survived by several cousins: Laurie Forseth, Eric Gies, Kathy Werth.

He is also survived by close friends: William and Sandra Schettko of Oxford and their children: Samantha, Abigail, Bethany and Makayla and grandson, Avryen.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

Honoring Richard’s wishes, private services will be held.
